Piyajit Ruckariyapong, Chief Executive Office of Sappe Public Company Limited or ‘SAPPE’ participated in the GCNT Forum 2024: Inclusive Business for Equitable Society, which was held under a collaboration between the UN Global Compact Network Thailand (UNGCNT) and the United Nations in Thailand. At the forum, SAPPE CEO engaged in the panel discussion titled “Bold Step, Lasting Change – Collective Actions to Accelerate Human Capital that Foster an Equitable Society” on the issue of prioritizing human capital in the organizational and social developments. This underlines SAPPE’s excellence in operational management that promotes equality and diversity throughout its value chain for sustainable growth in all dimensions.
The UN Global Compact Network Thailand Forum or ‘GCNT Forum 2024’ under the theme “Inclusive Business; the future business model for sustainable profit” with an aim to stimulate the economy while fostering an equitable society was organized by the UN Global Compact Network Thailand (UNGCNT), in alliance with the UN in Thailand plus more than 140 members from industrial sector. They all pledged to drive business with responsibility and sustainability to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, striving for social equality and ensuring no one is left behind. The key panelists included the UN Resident Coordinator for Thailand, Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey and Commerce Minister, Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, who emphasized a necessity of sustainable transition to support the next generations while creating the inclusive Thai society that leaves no one behind.
During the discussion, SAPPE CEO underscored the importance of SAPPE’s stakeholders throughout value chain as the company drives the business with the determination ‘We better people’s lives through our innovative spirit’. SAPPE has established the social policy, which is ‘promoting living standards of important people to grow together’, highlighting its dedication to equality and diversity among all stakeholder groups. The prime example is the employee group, in which SAPPE seeks those with ‘DNA’ or ‘Passion’ in building a Thai brand to become ‘Global Brand’ while aiming for sustainable growth to join its team. Ms. Piyajit noted that gender, age, race, religion and appearance are not barriers to recruitment.
